Who are we?
At Western Junction Sawmill, our purpose is multi-faceted. We aim to provide a thriving market for all grades and species of Tasmanian timber to maximise the value and return to the local region. All whilst providing local employment opportunities and supporting the economic stability of the region’s forestry industry.
We focus on efficiently processing locally sourced timber with care and precision, prioritising sustainability and processing all grades and species of private and public native and plantation resource, much of which had previously been sold to the export woodchip market. We play a vital role in preserving our natural resources while serving the needs of our local community.
Through responsible sourcing and meticulous processing methods, we ensure the natural beauty and integrity of the timber are preserved. By avoiding unnecessary waste and maximising the value of each log, our team of highly-skilled professionals process timber into feedstock that meets the highest quality standards for both minor building projects to large-scale construction developments, contributing to the development of sustainable infrastructure.
We are passionate about supporting the local economy by creating numerous employment opportunities. The mill's operations require a diverse range of skills from logging and transportation to sawing and manufacturing. We take great pride in being able to provide stable employment for a significant number of individuals in the local community. By investing in the skills and expertise of our workforce, we contribute to the growth and development of the region.
Western Junction Sawmill stands as a beacon of sustainable timber processing, local employment, and economic growth in the Tasmanian community.
